Whenever you feel depressed, pressured, stressed or afraid, you can simply turn to inspiring and calming Jesus pictures to remind you of the presence of God in your life. Sometimes we are so busy that we forget to keep in our minds and hearts that there is someone out there ready to listen to our problems, but more importantly, someone that we can direct our praise towards. One of the wise quotes from the Bible, in 1 Peter 5:7, the Holy Spirit tells us to, “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” Jesus is our God and Savior and he deeply loves us. Another great verse is in 1 John 4:8 – “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” Our God is the essence of love. Sometimes by simply looking at a small Jesus picture, we can immediately feel his presence and guidance.
We Don’t Worship Images
Of course, pictures of Jesus are not true pictures of what Jesus looked like as the Bible tells very little about Jesus’ physical appearance. Likewise, we are not to revere images in any way or worship them, but we only must worship our God.
Jesus is Fully Man and Fully God
Always, remember though, that although Jesus gave all the glory to God the Father and always instructed us to pray and give glory to the Father, Jesus also himself is fully divine. Many verses state that Jesus was fully God, but my favorite is Colossians 2:9, “For in Christ all the fullness of Deity lives in bodily form.” There are some “Christian” groups that only belief that Jesus was a very good person or maybe was God in the sense that all of us can become “gods.” But the Bible clearly teaches that Jesus was both fully God and fully man. Only a sinless man, who must necessarily be God to be without sin, could be the sacrifice to pay the penalty for all of mankind’s sine.
Reminder of Presence
Frequently in hospital rooms and nursing homes you will see different Jesus pictures framed and hung on the walls. There are baby Jesus pictures, infant Jesus pictures, black Jesus pictures and even funny Jesus pictures. These are all appropriate if done in reverence and for glory to God. These pictures remind the sick and the elderly that there is a God that comforts them during their troubles. This is also a sign to tell them that they will be in good hands no matter what happens to them, if they believe in the grace of God through Jesus.
Framed in Houses
In many Christian families, Jesus pictures are also displayed around in order to symbolize that Jesus reigns inside their home. Usually, as you go about your day, you take a moment of prayer when your eyes set gaze on the photo of your Savior.
At night, the children usually face the photos whenever they say their daily prayers prior to going to sleep. These pictures are wonderful as they remind people of God’s presence in this world – a reminder we often need during the dismal news stories fed us daily.
Easily Printable
Are you trying to find for Jesus pictures free so you can print them using your home computer? You can always find many wonderful and inspiring pictures of Jesus Christ on the Internet. One great site is Flickr.com. You just need to setup a free account to get free pictures.
Remember that you might get into trouble regarding copyright infringement if you steal photos of artists and photographers that have the copyright seal on them. What this means is that it would be best if you ask permission from the owners of the pictures before getting them and using them for your own needs.
Framed Presents
After you get the perfect images, you can simply print them on nice specialty paper (usually cardboard works best), put them on a classically elegant frame, and hang the framed picture of Jesus in any place that suits you - in your bedroom, living room, working desk or at the office. You can even give them as gifts to your loved ones or to a friend during his or her housewarming party. It is a beautiful, perfect present to give, as it will remind your friend to always think about Jesus and give Him the glory he deserves.
Again, images are not to be objects of worship, but only serve as reminders about what our God has done for us. Images of Jesus, statues, and crosses should not be worshiped as magical or divine, only God should be worshiped. While you will find a large cross at the First Baptist church I attend, it is not ever our focus of worship, but only a reminder of how Jesus suffered in our place.
