Advantages and Disadvantages to Using Plastic Baby Bibs

Babies are a bundle of joy.  They are God-given gifts.  The birth of a baby brings happiness and joy to its family.  It is the time for celebrations and also for sending gifts to the proud parents.

There are many baby gifts that are popular from baby bibs to newborn baby gifts baskets.  There are separate newborn baby gift baskets for baby girls and baby boys.  When you give a baby gift basket, you are not only conveying warm wishes, but these baskets are usually filled with items the mother truly needs – bottles, diapers, wet wipes, baby powder, teething rings, etc.  The new baby gift baskets are enticing and make great gifts.

A baby bib is a wonderful baby gift item.  Baby bibs are a necessary part of your baby or toddler’s wardrobe.  There’s a huge variety of bibs available today – from basic snap-on types to sculpted full-coverage styles.  Bibs are very essential for the mother, from formula spit-up, to baby food accidents, to slobbering toddlers, bibs are a wardrobe necessity for most children from birth to three years old.  When considering multiple feedings per day, the amount of bibs you may need to wash each year could be staggering.  Baby  bibs and burp clothes are, of course, extremely important as they reduce the amount of baby clothes that need washed.

However, a plastic baby bib has its disadvantages.  You need to be very careful that the baby does not accidentally cover his moth with the bib as it can lead to suffocation.  Also, since you are only wiping the bib instead of washing it in a washing machine, germs can build up on the plastic bib and cause sickness.  Make sure to wash your plastic bib with antibacterial dish soap in hot water to remove any germs.
